Policies subject to change.
- Physical Education classes and varsity practices/matches have priority at all times and courts will not be reservable during times when these activities are ongoing. These activities are generally scheduled from 8:30am-6:30pm on weekdays. Varsity practice and match times vary on the weekends. Reservable times may change to accommodate varsity events or PE activities since they always have priority over recreational play.
- All players (reservation or no reservation) are limited to 90 minutes of play. Players with reservations take priority over walk-in play during reservable hours. Members and guests who are playing during non-reservable hours should be advised that PE classes, varsity practice or matches, or other activities sponsored by the Department of Athletics & Recreation always have priority over recreational play at these times.
- Tentative reservable hours will be:
- Monday-Thursday 6:30-9:45pm (6:30 or 8:15 slots on each of four courts)
Friday 5:00-8:15pm (5:00 or 6:45 slots on each of four courts)
Sat/Sun 10:00am-4:45pm (10am, 11:45am, 1:30pm or 3:15 time slots on each of four courts)
Reservable hours subject to change as needed for use by PE classes, varsity events, and other departmental activities.
- Members must show Emory ID that reads PASS at the entry desk in order to enter the WPEC; in other words, you must be a member of the WPEC with a valid Emory Card. Please visit our website at www.wpec.emory.edu for information on eligibility for membership, rates and policies. Paid members may bring up to 3 guests to play indoor tennis at one time and each guest must purchase a guest pass and sign a waiver before playing.
- When a member brings guests to play indoor tennis, the guests will be asked to wait at the WPEC entrance while the member goes downstairs to the Equipment Issue room to purchase the passes. Guests will read and sign a waiver form at the desk while waiting for the member to return with the guest passes. The member must return to the entrance with the guest passes and the entrance attendant will remove a corner to indicate a used pass.
- Reservations will be taken starting at 1pm each day for the following day only. No same day reservations will be accepted. No ongoing or standing reservations will be permitted. Members should call the fourth floor monitor desk (404-712-4458) to request a reservation.
- Court will be held for a time period of 15 minutes after the start of any reserved court time. For the example, the court would be held until 6:45 for a 6:30 reservation. If the person with the reservation has not appeared within that 15 minute 'grace period', then the court will be opened up to walk-in players on a first come-first serve basis and the prior reservation is cancelled.
- Members who do not have reservations will be able to play on a first come-first serve basis. A player without a reservation will proceed upstairs and put their name and time of arrival on the sign-in sheet at the indoor tennis monitor’s desk. Players waiting will play in order of arrival as courts open up.
- ABSOLUTELY NO RUNNING SHOES OR BLACK-SOLED SHOES. Players must wear tennis or court shoes only and this will be strictly enforced.
