Overview
**COURSE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE**
Emory's Low Ropes/Challenge Course was a gift to the University from the Senior class of 1995. Ropes and challenge courses are excellent experiential tools for learning about decision making processes and conflict resolution within groups. The course can help to foster a greater understanding of the importance of each and every individual in the group in meeting group objectives, and it may help some individuals to define and develop their leadership qualities. It is an excellent team-building activity for any type of club, team, staff department, or Greek organization on campus! The Emory Low Ropes/Challenge Course is located past the varsity baseball field on Peavine Creek Road and is available for rental to student, staff, and faculty groups. Arrangements for reserving the course may be made through Myra Sims, Assistant Director of Athletics & Recreation / Facilities Coordinator at Emory by calling (404) 727-6560. Either full day or half-day programs may be arranged. Groups up to 30 may use the course at one time. Lunch will not be provided for full-day programs, so participants must make their own arrangements. Trained facilitator(s), who can provide introductory initiative games, will lead your group through the actual elements and help to foster group discussion at various points throughout the day. Participants must be 14 years old to use the Emory University Ropes course and participants under 18 must have a waiver form signed in advance by their parent or legal guardian. One facilitator is required to work with a group up to 15 people, while two facilitators are required for groups of 16-30. The course cannot accommodate more than 30 people at one time due to proximity of the elements to one another. |
