Emory Rock Climbing Arena (ERCA)
Thanks to the work of the Emory Mountaineering Club, the Athletics and Recreation Department, and the Student Government, the two climbing walls located in the Woodruff Physical Education Center were completely renovated in March, 1997. The walls have been expanded in size and have been textured to feel like real stone. The walls offer a variety of challenges, including corners, overhangs, moveable hand holds for changing routes, and room for multiple climbers. Safety is the area’s highest priority. The three levels of ERCA participation are walk-up climber, approved belayer, and court attendant. All climbers must be 14 years old or older, and must be current members of the Woodruff PE Center or Emory students (no summer camp participants without prior permission).
EMORY AFFILIATED GROUPS/ORGANIZATIONS: Climbing Wall Rates* One attendant $45 per hour (up to approximately 6 people) 48 Hour Cancellation Policy: If an event has been scheduled, at least 48 hours prior to the event is needed for cancellations.
