What is Quickball?

Real Baseball in half the space!!!

Welcome to Quickball Extreme Baseball-an exciting hardball sport that is part baseball, part softball and all fun. Played with four players per side, Quickball is the diamond's great equalizer - a sport that anyone can play because it emphasizes speed and quickness, not size and strength.

QUICKBALL RULES:
*4-player teams
*4-inning games (20 minute time limit)
*3 outs per inning
*No extra innings; tie games are decided by a Home Run Shootout
*Mound is 46 feet for men, 42 feet for women - distance is measured from the AutoUmp
*Teams must rotate a new pitcher every inning; every pitcher must complete an inning or give up 4 runs before a reliever can take over (any player can relieve).
*Fielders cannot play directly behind the pitcher
*Maximum of 10 runs per team, per inning
*15 run mercy rule in the 3rd inning

Offense
-Runners cannot play off base and must tag before advancing on fly ball outs.
-A batter may not lean in front of the AutoUmp target. If hit by the pitch, he or she has the option to take their base.
-Any foul tip that does not stay in the Pickoff Pocket is ruled as a foul ball.
-A batter can get a ground-ruled double by bouncing the ball over the fence, and a ground-ruled triple by hitting the fence in the air.
-All fair balls must cross the Fair Play Arc.

Defense
-Regular baseball rules with 2 additions:
-Once a runner rounds third and crosses the Run Line located between third base and home plate (see field diagram), a fielder may throw him or her out at the plate by hitting the AutoUmp target on the fly or on the bounce before the runner crosses the plate. Any throw that misses the target is still in play unless it rolls beyond the backstop. If the throw lands in the Pickoff Pocket, all runners are out (including the runner attempting to score, unless he or she has already crossed the plate before the throw lands in the Pickoff Pocket).
-On any strike that stays in the AutoUmp Pickoff Pocket, (foul-tipped or otherwise) all baserunners are ruled out.
-A strike is any pitch that hits the AutiUmp target in the air. Three strikes is an out.
-A ball is any bitch that misses the target. Four balls is a walk.

Additional Quickball Information:
Quickball is the most versatile diamond sport ever. Its formats include fast-pitch, slow-pitch and even Team Home Run Derby. All Quickball rules emphasize speed-up play and constant action. Games are fast, fields are compact and rules are easy to learn. Quickball can also be played indoors or outdoors!

The new T-400 is the official game ball of USA Quickball. It features a patented blend of raised seams (just like a real baseball or softball) and symmetrical holes. Slightly larger than a racquetball, the T-400 plays just like a horsehide ball but has a restricted flight and is weatherproof.

Pitchers can control pitch selection and fielders can throw out runners without worrying about the ball floating or curving uncontrollably. And the solid construction of the T-400 gives each batter an exciting baseball-like "feel" upon contact. All told, the T-400 lets players capture the ultimate diamond experience on a field that is smaller than a baseball infield!
